The deal has been sealed with a stunning engagement ring, estimated by experts to be worth around $250,000, which Angelina was spotted wearing at the LA County Museum earlier this month.

The ring was designed by jeweller Robert Procop and Brad Pitt himself, a project that took twelve months to complete. Procop said: “Brad had a specific vision for this ring, which he realised over a year-long collaboration. He wanted every aspect to be perfect, so I was able to locate a diamond of the finest quality and cut it to an exact custom size and shape to suit Angelina’s hand.”

The centre of the ring is set with a large, oblong shaped diamond, and the thick band is ribbed with additional diamonds. Procop declares that “each diamond is of the highest gem quality”, and the result is a flawless, unique piece of jewellery which reflects the time and effort invested into its creation.

If you are looking for an engagement ring, or even considering designing an original ring for your partner, there are many bespoke jewellers in London’s Hatton Garden district who will be happy to assist you and help you bring your design to life.

London has many elegant squares and Lincoln’s Inn Fields is actually the largest public square in the capital. The square has a rich and varied history. The Square was witness to the public beheading of Lord William Russell, son of the first Duke of Bedford. He had been found guilty of conspiring in the Rye House Plot to assassinate King Charles II.

Did you know that various parts of the Inn were damaged following bombing raids during the second World War? The Stone Buildings, Old Buildings, the Chapel and Old Hall all had to be extensively repaired in the post war reconstruction.

If you visit Lincoln Inn Fields make sure you pay a visit to the Hunterian Museum in the Royal College Surgeons (located at the south side of the square) if only to remind you how good modern life is with our medical science.

Lincoln’s Inn is actually just one of four of the London Inns of Court (the others being Gray’s Inn, Middle Temple and Inner Temple) that developed as educational establishments in which young apprentices could study law. Famous past members of Lincoln’s Inn include Thomas More, Oliver Cromwell, Pitt the Younger, Benjamin Disraeli, William Gladstone, Margaret Thatcher and more recently Tony Blair.

A visit to Lincoln Inn Fields is an ideal way to spend time either before or after a shopping trip to the friendly jewellery retailers in London’s diamond quarter of Hatton Garden.

The picture was taken by acclaimed photographer Mert Marcus at the famous five-star Copacabana Palace Hotel in Rio de Janeiro, and has attracted worldwide media attention.

Ambrosio, one of the top five best paid models, already has one child; a daughter named Anja, and is expecting her second arrival, a boy, in June of this year. She has stated that pregnancy has made her more confident than ever, and perfectly happy to reveal her changing figure. She said: “A nude photoshoot was good, because pregnancy makes me much more confident. I’m proud of my body to be generating a life.”

She certainly looks relaxed and comfortable in the black and white image, in which she showcases some of Vivara’s stunning earrings, bracelets and rings from behind a set of sheer white curtains. Vivara, a Brazilian company, have a vast catalogue of jewellery for men and women, ranging from wedding rings and watches to keychains and necklaces. The pieces chosen for the ad adorn Ambrosio’s pregnant body in a tasteful and stylish manner.

Jewellery is a timeless and elegant gift for any expectant mother or new mum. However, if you are in London rather than Brazil, Hatton Garden offers all the services you need to choose something special.

Some simply opt for the date and the name of their partner; others go more unusual with an in joke or song lyrics. An inscription personalises your ring and makes it entirely unique, and to some, this makes the wedding band even more meaningful. When it comes to the decision of whether to get your ring engraved or not, the choice is entirely individual.

Firstly, be realistic about the type of ring you have chosen, and whether it is suitable for engraving. Bear in mind that thicker and clearer inscriptions tend to stand up better over time. Prices for engraving depend on the length of the inscription, and the width of the ring itself, so be sure to take this into account as well.

If you do chose to commit to an engraving, make sure you are completely happy with the phrase, word, or name you have chosen. It will be on your finger for life as a symbol of your commitment. If you choose something too current or quirky, no matter how hilarious you think it is now, it probably won’t seem funny in 20 years time. If you choose something classic, tasteful and timeless, you’ll be left with a personalised ring that you can cherish forever.

R.H Wilkins in Hatton Garden offer a bespoke engraving service. Their expert staff have a collective wealth of knowledge and expertise to help you make the right choice.

High Holborn is a road in Holborn, on the southern border of Hatton Garden. It forms part of the major artery that is the A40 and offers many shopping opportunities. High Holborn starts in the west as a turn off Charing Cross Road, near St Giles Circus, and runs past the Kingsway and Southampton Row. High Holborn becomes Holborn at its eastern junction with Gray’s Inn Road. It was originally a Roman road.

High Holborn is mentioned in Adrian Mitchell’s poem Celia, Celia:

When I am sad and weary
When I think all hope has gone
When I walk along High Holborn
I think of you with nothing on.

There are many top restaurants on High Holborn including Shanghai Blues that would be an ideal destination following a shopping trip for diamonds and other jewellery to Hatton Garden. The world famous Savoy Grill is located nearby on the Strand. You may care to celebrate your purchases of wedding or diamond rings.

There are also many opportunities to visit the theatre in the evening. Two minutes from High Holborn is New London Theatre. The New London Theatre opened its doors in 1973, making it one of the West End’s newest theatres. The building is sleek and impressive, with a stunning mirrored facade.

Getting to High Holborn could not be easier. The nearest London Underground stations are Tottenham Court Road, Holborn and Chancery Lane which are all on the Central line. The tunnel of the Central line actually runs directly beneath High Holborn. From there it is only a short walk to the jewellery shops of Hatton Garden.

Customers come from all over the world to purchase stunning gold jewellery in London’s diamond quarter in Hatton Garden. Like other precious metals, gold is measured by troy weight and by grams. When it is alloyed with other metals the term carat or karat is used to indicate the purity of gold present, with 24 carats being pure gold and lower ratings proportionally less.

Gold has featured extensively in the news of late due to the spectacular increase in the price of the precious metal on the international bullion markets. But have you ever wondered just what is gold?

Gold is actually a dense, soft, shiny, malleable and ductile metal. To notice pure gold you need to look for bright yellow colour and luster, which it maintains without oxidizing in air or water. Chemically, gold is a transition metal and a group 11 element. Furthermore it is one of the least reactive solid chemical elements.

Gold has been a valuable and highly sought-after precious metal for coinage, jewellery, and other arts since long before the beginning of recorded history. Gold has also been used as a currency standard by central banks and as the most common basis for monetary policies throughout human history.

Why not visit the friendly gold jewellery retailers in Hatton Garden London and see some of their beautiful pieces of jewellery at your leisure. You will find a large selection of high quality gold jewellery, gold bangles, bracelets and earrings at very competitive prices. Thus you will be able to step into the prestige of wearing and owning gold.

For the origins of the wedding ring we need to look to the deserts of North Africa. It was there that the ancient Egyptian civilization emerged along the fertile flood plains of the river Nile. The Nile brought fortune and life to the Pharaoh’s people and the first wedding rings were crafted from plants growing on its’ banks. Wedding rings were made from the sedges, rushes and reeds, growing alongside the well-known papyrus along the river.

The wedding ring, in more modern times, is a metal ring, usually gold, indicating that the wearer is married and therefore not available for traditional dating. It is worn on the base of the right or the left ring finger and was originally worn exclusively by wives. However, wedding rings became customary for both husbands and wives in more recent times during the 20th century.

In several traditions, it is the duty of the best man or maid of honour on the wedding day to keep hold of a couple’s wedding rings and to produce them at the symbolic moment of the giving and receiving of the rings during the traditional marriage ceremony.

After marriage, the ring is worn on the hand it had been placed on during the ceremony. The married couple publicly declares their eternal love for each other through the symbol of the wedding ring.

The friendly retailers in Hatton Garden can help you find the perfect wedding ring for your big day. Among the lively cluster of retailers in the diamond quarter of London you will be able to browse at leisure to find the nuptial rings of your dreams.

For centuries, diamonds have been widely regarded as the universal symbol of eternal love and commitment. But have you ever wondered how we began our fascination with diamonds and engagement rings?

Legend has it that the tradition began with one enterprising archduke. The first well-documented use of a diamond ring to signify engagement was by the Archduke Maximilian of Austria in the imperial court of Vienna in 1477, upon his betrothal to Mary of Burgundy.

Betrothal rings were used during Roman times, but were not generally revived in the Western world until the 13th century. Over the next few centuries, giving diamond engagement rings was largely restricted to only the wealthiest and noblest of families.

This changed in the 1870s when several diamond mines were discovered in South Africa, which greatly increased the availability and affordability of diamonds to the general public.

Cecil Rhodes, who arrived in South Africa in 1873, founded the DeBeers Mining Company with other investors. Within the decade, DeBeers began to control 90% of the world’s diamond production. According to a recent DeBeers study, four out of five brides receive diamond engagement rings.

Engagement rings did not become standard in the West until the end of the 19th century, and diamond rings didn’t become common until the 1930s.

The friendly retailers in Hatton Garden can help you find the perfect diamond ring so that you can keep up the tradition. You will find a lively cluster of jewellery retailers in the diamond quarter of London thus ensuring a competitive price for your precious stone.
