Hatton Garden is London’s world renowned jewellery quarter, and has an abundance of shops selling precious metals, gemstones and other luxury jewels lining its streets. However, what you may not realise about Hatton Garden is that there are also several excellent dining options in the area! One of our personal favourites is the Bleeding Heart Restaurant, which is located just off of Grenville Street.
The Bleeding Heart Restaurant is known for its indulgent French cuisine, with decadent dishes such as wild mushroom velouté with rock chives and parsley croutons, or fillet of sea bream with saffron mash, salt and pepper squids, and sauce vierge. Even the dessert menu matches the French Bistro feel – classics such as Crème Bruleé are interspersed with more adventurous offerings like the butter chocolate and caramel délice, but whatever you opt for, they’re extremely yummy and, for their quality, very reasonably priced.
However, it’s not just its restaurant for which the Bleeding Heart is famous. With four separate spaces including the restaurant, the bistro, the tavern and the crypt (which, despite its name, is beautiful rather than morbid!), it’s the perfect place for drinks with friends, or private entertaining. Many couples have even held their wedding receptions in the establishment – it’s a great central London location in a truly romantic district.
So next time you’re in the neighbourhood, remember that Hatton Garden is more than just its gems! Why not pay the Bleeding Heart a visit and try their delicious French cuisine for yourself?
